‹ Back School project Realschule Wolfach E-Motor
On 27 March 2018 and until 5 April 2018 a total of 24 pupils from the Wolfach secondary school spent part of their Easter holidays at Grieshaber PRECISION. For eight days, the students came in groups of four to our factory to manufacture the mechanical basic frame of the electric motor.
Weeks before, the apprentices from the first year of training planned and prepared the project. They managed the entire internship, created a machine plan and an emergency plan if something went wrong with a student.
At the start of work, two trainees picked up the interns in the entrance hall. Then there was a presentation round and then a training session on occupational safety. After this instruction, the students were given the task of reading different dimensions of a caliper before the trainees presented the project to them.
They were divided into groups of two to jointly build the mechanical components of an electric motor. Interns worked on the drilling machine, milling machine and even on the lathe, but only under the supervision of the trainees. The students had to muster a high level of concentration and attention, so that they did not make any mistakes.
By the end of the day, the students had assembled the engine's mechanical frame to wind the electric motor in Vega the next day.
Finally, there was a small gift for the interns and a recommendation to "step on the gas". We hope that the students of the Wolfach Realschule liked it and we could offer you a good insight into our professions.
